Each week, we bring our customers stories and strategies from within the 99 Spoons community—operators who are out there turning soft serve into opportunity, one location at a time. This week’s feature takes us to Reno, Nevada, where one operator has already made a big splash on campus.
🎓 Operator Spotlight: Arianne N – University of Nevada, Reno
This week’s spotlight goes to Arianne N, one of our newest 99 Spoons operators who just launched her kiosk at Argenta Hall, University of Nevada, Reno (student population: 21,000).
🚀 Launch Success
With the support of Compass USA and Chartwell Higher Education, Arianne’s kiosk recently went live —just in time for student move-in week and new student orientation. From 8/15 to 8/22 she generated over $736.35 in sales, serving 117 soft-serve treats. Even more impressive, only 30% of the student body was on campus, which means the potential for growth is enormous as the semester ramps up.
📈 Growth Plans
Arianne is already thinking ahead. She plans to use the Promo Codes feature in the 99 Spoons Owner Software Portal to link her kiosk with the University dining program, so students can use their meal plans to grab soft serve. This strategy could take her sales to the next level and firmly position her kiosk as a key part of student dining life.
🍨 Marketing with Spirit
To make her kiosk a true “campus staple”, Arianne is adding a creative twist:
- Featuring sprinkles in the University’s colors
- Giving them a custom name in the portal
- Boosting school spirit and student morale while serving up frozen fun.
Her combination of a clever strategy and creative marketing is setting the tone for a very bright future on campus.
